I spent my first long weekend after my move to Boston soloing the Presidential Traverse which was around 21.2 miles with over 10,000 feet of elevation gain!
At first I was bummed to not hang out with people over Independence Day, but it gave me time to myself to reflect on my time in Philly. I'd highly recommend to anyone to take some time alone and have a "me-kend", safely of course.
Known as the "Poor Man's Galapagos", these islands can easily be toured via a quick boat ride from Paracas, Peru. Many animals and birds inhabit the islands and humans only land every 5 to 8 years to collect guano for fertilizers.
Huacachina is a small oasis located within the Ica Desert. This town only has about 100 locals, but it is constantly swarming with tourists visiting to see the expansive dunes and shocking oasis.
The Nazca Lines are a bit of a mystery. These lines were etched into the desert sands over 2000 years ago and have stood the test of time. The etchings are only a few centimeters deep, but span hundreds of meters in their design. Try to see if you can see the iconic monkey or Thunderbird in the clip. Apologies for the low zoom!
Paradiso is small town that sits in the Italian speaking section of Switzerland between the Alps and Lake Lugano. I had the opportunity to take the last cable cart up Monte San Salvatore after work and hike down before the sun went down and a storm came over the mountains.
Quick day trip out to Zion National Park before my redeye back home. The total hike took 3 hours which included plenty of stops for videos/pictures, chain traffic, and lunch at the top.
